Hispanic Heritage Month Highlights

Every year, we celebrate the rich diversity and significant contributions of our Latino communities across the United States during Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th to October 15th.

This month, our President & CEO, Ron Gonzales, shared with several local tech companies’ Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) the critical data on our latest Latino Report Card and spoke on the importance of supporting organizations like our Foundation as we keep developing solutions to the disparities that Silicon Valley Latinos face.

During these visits, Ron has set forth our commitment to diversifying STEM careers and nonprofit boardrooms, serving as an inspiring reminder of the collective efforts that can bring positive change. Thank you to our corporate supporters: Dell Technologies, Synopsis, and Applied Materials, for opening spaces for our community to come together and have meaningful conversations about the future of the Silicon Valley  Latino Community.

The Foundation was also featured in several news and media outlets. We are very grateful for the efforts of AARP, KPIX | CBS News Bay Area, FOX2 | KTVU News, and NBC Bay Area for their dedication to raising awareness and sharing the stories and achievements of our Latino community.

As part of our fundraising efforts, we partnered for the 7th time with the San Jose Sharks; thanks to that partnership, we celebrated the Hispanic community of Silicon Valley at a Sharks game and raised essential funds for our educational programs when the Sharks became Los Tiburones for one night on October 14th.

Last but not least, the Hispanic Foundation Ball took place on October 21. What a great way to close the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration by getting inspired to keep advancing education excellence and our commitment to supporting our STEM students in Silicon Valley.
