Cultivate

COLLEGE

Cultivate Talent. Build Future STEM Leaders.

During the Cultivate phase, HFSV equips Latino STEM students with the resources, connections, and real-world experiences they need to thrive in college and launch successful careers.

We believe talent is universal, but opportunity is not. That’s why we invest in students during the most pivotal moment in their educational journey—providing the financial support, professional development, mentorship, and career connections that prepare them to become tomorrow’s innovators, engineers, scientists, and technology leaders.

Every scholarship awarded, every mentor matched, and every internship completed moves students one step closer to transforming not only their own futures, but the future of Silicon Valley.

Bridge to STEM

Creating Pathways from Community College to STEM Success

Over 50% of our 672 Latinos in Technology Scholars (LITSIs) transferred from community college.

Bridge to STEM supports Latino community college students as they prepare to transfer into bachelor’s degree programs in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Designed to strengthen one of the most critical transition points in higher education, the program provides students with the guidance, confidence, and resources needed to successfully navigate the path toward a STEM degree.

Participants gain access to:

  • Transfer readiness support
  • STEM career exploration
  • Mentorship from STEM professionals
  • Financial literacy education
  • Leadership and professional development
  • A supportive community of peers pursuing similar goals

By helping students successfully transfer and persist in STEM, we’re expanding the pipeline of Latino talent entering Silicon Valley’s future workforce.

Latinos in Technology Scholars Initiative

Unlocking the Full Potential of Latino STEM Talent

Although Latinos represent 26% of Silicon Valley’s total population, less than 3% of the high-tech workforce is Latino. With 39% of the K-12 student population identified as Latino, we know their talents and perspectives have the potential to transform STEM fields.

Through the Latinos in Technology Scholars Initiative (LITSIs), we support scholars in graduating, launching meaningful careers, and becoming leaders who strengthen both their families and our region.

Beyond the financial assistance, we invest in the whole student—building the confidence, skills, and community that help scholars thrive long after graduation.
