On Tuesday, May 5, 2020, the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley participated in #GivingTuesdayNow and raised funds for our Latinx students in need of financial stress relief through our Latinos in Technology Scholarship Fund. Our Board Members took action and contributed $5,000 to match any donation dollar for dollar. The goal of the money raised is to provide many scholars in need with a $200 gift. We are thrilled to announce that we raised $12,000.
Although it’s too early to know the final impact of COVID-19 will have on our students, we have our work ahead of us to double down the ever growing achievement gap among our Latinx community. The Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley would like to thank everyone who supported us yesterday. When we come together, we can achieve great things!
