Jasmin Gonzalez-Ortiz

Jasmin Gonzalez-Ortiz is the Marketing and Communications Fellow of the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley through the Leavey School of Business Community Fellows Program at Santa Clara University. At HFSV, she supports marketing and communications through her skills in content creation and event planning.

Jasmin is a native of the Mission District of San Francisco. She is a first-generation college student, currently pursuing a B.S. in Marketing and a minor in Retail Studies at Santa Clara University. She is passionate about using storytelling to create meaningful, long-lasting change in the communities that have shaped her.

Growing up in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood, she became increasingly aware of the barriers many students face in accessing higher education. This inspired her to help fill that gap and work with the communities she resides in to spread knowledge of this issue. Outside of HFSV, she is involved in the LEAD Scholars Program, where she supports and connects with first-generation college students during their journey at Santa Clara. She previously interned at 1024 Movement and used social media and marketing to help connect young people facing mental health struggles with resources. These experiences have enabled her to advocate for marginalized communities by connecting them with the resources they need to flourish.
