Exposing the next generation to STEM fields

In collaboration with Eastside Education Initiative, two of our incredible Latinas in Technology Scholars shared their educational journeys with 30 students at August Boeger Middle School, Ida Jew Academy, and Valle Vista Elementary

The students spent their Spring break engaging in a Math Intensive week, and our Latinos In Technology STEM panel served as a culminating event.

Our scholars Jamie Moore, a senior at UC Santa Cruz studying Biomolecular Engineering and Bioinformatics, and Giselle Alvarez, a Senior at UC Berkeley studying Data Science, talked about their experiences in STEM and shared advice with the students.

Special thanks to our EEI partners, Lisanna Dominguez, Cris Ramirez, Danea Villegas-Pena, and Valeria Cazares, for collaborating with us to inspire and motivate our future STEM leaders!
