Olivia Mulligan is a senior at Santa Clara University studying business management. She has a strong passion for social justice and helping underrepresented communities, which led her to the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley. She loves showing up and being surrounded by a like-minded, caring community like HFSV. Once graduated, she plans on continuing her education by pursuing a master’s degree.
Olivia joins HFSV as the Marketing and Communications Fellow through Santa Clara University’s “Leavey Community Fellows” program. Current projects she is working on include monthly newsletters, preparation for the Hispanic Foundation Ball, social media management, and document organization. Olivia also holds a position as the Department Coordinator in the Neighborhood Perspectives department at the Santa Clara Community Action Program. In this role, she works in a team to help end homelessness in the Bay Area by supporting five different programs that aid the unhoused community.
Before starting her internship with HFSV, Olivia interned at the companies Divine Women in Business and Advanced Biotech Inc. Growing up in New York taught her that there is strength in diversity and only fueled her desire for social change.
Overall, Olivia leverages her desire for community and empathy for others to drive her work with the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley. Uplifting and strengthening other communities is what makes her job so special.
