Melanie Angulo is the Research and Program Impact Intern at the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley (HFSV), where she is currently leading a geographically focused, data-driven evaluation of the Foundation’s K-12 programs to assess their local impact and highlight expansion opportunities. A proud first-generation college student born and raised in the Bay Area, Melanie is an alumna of Eastside College Preparatory School and a rising senior at UC Santa Barbara, majoring in Psychological and Brain Sciences.
Before joining HFSV, Melanie worked at the UCSB Sprague Lab, contributing to psychological research, and interned with New Beginnings, a nonprofit supporting community mental health and housing stability. Through these experiences, she has developed a deep commitment to using research to uplift underrepresented families and advocate for equity in education and access.
Melanie is passionate about educational justice, mental health, and supporting Latino communities through data-informed storytelling. She believes that research can be a powerful vehicle for social change and hopes to continue building inclusive systems that empower others to thrive.
