Latinx Speaker Series

On November 15, 2022, from 6:00 pm- 7:30 pm, we convened for our Latinx Speaker Series! This series focused on “How to Get Hired in Silicon Valley” by featuring a Tech recruiter panel from Micron Technology and Netflix!

Although Latinos represent 28% of the total population in Silicon Valley, only 3% of the high-tech workforce is Latino, and our mission is to change that. Through this event, attendees gained insight from recruiters from several tech companies in Silicon Valley about best practices during their job search.

FEATURED SPEAKERS:

Michael Orozco, Program Manager, TA Strategic Programs at Netflix.

Michael (he/him) is a first-gen college graduate and proud LGBTQ Latinx professional born and raised in Stockton, CA. He has held various roles within the recruiting space for the last 8 years (TEKsystems, Uber, and Netflix) with a focus on helping to increase diversity within the tech and entertainment space.

MODERATOR.

Isaura Gaeta, VP, and GM, Security Research at Intel Corporation.

Isaura leads an engineering team focused on hardware security research, including penetration testing, physical attack mechanisms, and outreach to academia.

Gaeta spent the first two decades of her Intel career developing various semiconductor processing technologies. Her work during that period led to two patents and five Intel Achievement Awards, the company’s highest recognition.
