Annie Pineda-Martinez is a Programs Intern at the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley. She analyzes program data to support HFSV’s Latinos in Technology Scholars Initiative and plan for future events. She is going into her third year at the University of California, Berkeley, studying Applied Mathematics and Computer Science.
At UC Berkeley, Annie is involved in organizations that support Latino students at both the K-12 and higher education levels. Through her involvement, she has developed an understanding of the barriers that the community faces when pursuing educational opportunities.
Previously, Annie interned at Skydio, a drone manufacturer, working on both manufacturing logistics and software testing. She ensured inventory accuracy and tested daily software updates, identifying and flagging any bugs. Additionally, she served as a lead robotics instructor for BrainVyne LEGO & Money Camps for two consecutive summers, teaching Scratch-based LEGO robotics to students ages 5 to 11.
As a Latina in STEM, Annie is passionate about HFSV’s mission to support students with similar backgrounds to her own. Growing up in the heart of Silicon Valley, she developed an interest in technology and is excited to support programming that uplifts Latino students pursuing STEM careers.
