Anissa is the Fund Development Assistant of the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley. As FDA, she’ll provide general administrative and program support for the Development department.
She is a Latina with solid roots in Watsonville and San Jose, California. She is the first in her family to have completed college with a BA in Sociology and Ethnic Studies at San Jose State University. She is pursuing her master’ in Education at Santa Clara University and hopes to receive her doctorate soon.
From witnessing the undeniable struggles her community has faced in terms of education, housing, food insecurity, lack of support, and overall livelihood, she has used her education and work experience to be an advocate, mentor, and resource for those who need it. With previous experience in Nonprofits and working closely with her community, she is excited to continue her endeavors with Nonprofits whose goals are to empower and change the lives of Latinx communities.
