PROGRAM COMPONENTS & TIMELINE

  • The LBLA will be held from July 31, 2024 – October 2, 2024.
  • Academy sessions will take place every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the exception of one Saturday session on September 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • The program targets Latinx professionals looking to serve on boards of nonprofits based in Silicon Valley (Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties).
  • Be interested in their personal leadership development and growth
  • Be committed to improving the quality of life for Silicon Valley Latinos.
  • Be committed to sitting on a nonprofit board upon completing the LBLA.
  • Must be of Latino or Hispanic origin.
  • Have completed a 4 year College Degree or have equivalent professional experience.
  • This is a hybrid program with in-person sessions taking place in the San Jose, Santa Clara, CA, and Sunnyvale, CA area.
  • Have a strong desire to gain a deep understanding of nonprofit governance and the roles and responsibilities of a nonprofit board member
  • Be interested in learning about emerging board governance and leadership trends and new practices
  • Be willing to try new ideas and be open to feedback

All sessions must be attended. If you have more than one absence, you will not graduate or receive a certificate of completion.

I understand that I will be required to pay a $350 tuition fee before the beginning of the LBLA. I must be committed to serve on a nonprofit board upon completion of the LBLA. I will devote the time and resources necessary to complete the program and participate to the best of my abilities.
