Summer Jobs For Math & Algebra Teacher Assistants
The Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley in partnership with the Silicon Valley Education Foundation and ALearn is pleased to announce the availability of summer jobs for college students.
Wanted:
Energetic college and graduate students who wish to inspire middle school students about math and Algebra. Applicants who have worked successfully with young people, have proficiency in math and Algebra, exhibit leadership skills and excellent interpersonal skills, and have a desire to make a positive impact on student achievement in math and Algebra.
What:
Teaching Assistants for two middle school summer math programs in Santa Clara County public schools that serve primarily low income, Latino students. Teaching Assistants work side by-side experienced, credentialed teachers to provide math and Algebra instruction to middle school students who are below grade level.
When:
Mid-June to early August, 2010.
Compensation:
$1,800 stipend for the Summer 2010 position.
Where:
School sites located in Santa Clara County. Teaching Assistant must be able to provide own transportation.
