The Alzheimer’s Association is Presenting a New Program to Our Community: Family Support Program.
It is a free and confidential service through consultations/family meetings to help caregivers care for their spouse or partner at home for as long as possible. The intervention focuses on enhancing the social support system of the caregiver to better withstand the demands of providing care.
In order to qualify for the program the following criteria must be met:

The person with memory loss must be living with the caregiver.

No formal diagnosis is required, but symptoms must be present.

There must be at least one local family member or close friend willing to participate.

The relationship between the caregiver and the person with memory loss need to be spousal, domestic partners, or have been in a committed relationship for an extensive period of time.
